Brilliance of Black girls!
Black Girl Magic Educational Services is a Black Women led non-profit organization that provides opportunities for Black girls by empowering them to let their natural gifts shine, cultivating leadership skills while centering youth voice in decision making, and forming a safe and affirming community where girls can authentically and unapologetically be themselves.
Black Girl Magic Educational Services (BGMES) is a community where Black girls are celebrated, empowered and connected to their peers and professional Black women mentors. We launched the dynamic Black Girl Magic Conference in Madison, Wisconsin back in 2018. Today, we're so much more than an annual conference - we are a family! BGMES provides a safe and welcoming space for Black girls to thrive and interact with other girls who share the same interests while captivating the joy and magic that makes Black girls special.
BGMES, Inc. has expanded our programming to include events that continue the spirit of the Black Girl Magic Conference throughout the year, such as:
A virtual space led by Black women to give girls space to discuss racial and social justice issues, identity, and be in community with each other.
MINDFULNESS IN THE PARK
Held annually in June, girls learn how to bring awareness to their thoughts, feelings, emotions and body while participating in journaling, art and movement sessions led by Black women. Our girls also attend fun field trips planned by our Youth Advisory Board!
Hosted one Saturday each month during the school year, Black Girl Magic Saturdays brings our programming to the Madison-area community with culturally-themed activities for Black girls in 4th-9th grades.
