I have spent over 21 years managing teams in the areas of customer service and health insurance management and recently claims processing. I am a graduate of the University of Northern Iowa with a BA in Sociology with an emphasis in Family Services.
As a mother of two daughters, I am enthusiastic about helping create a positive environment in which girls can learn, grow, and encouraged to be steadfast in their endeavors.
I enjoy sharing my knowledge and experience of being a track and field athlete beginning as a youth to now. I am USA track and field Masters athlete and compete and represent both my sports club and Team USA regionally and internationally in short sprinting events. I received 2022 USA Track and Field Athlete of the Year award and was honored to be featured on Moms in Madison where I shared my story of being a mom, athlete and balancing the day to day while following your passions.
I am an active member of the first employee resource group for Black employees created in 2020 at my current company. As a member I have worked on branding, community events, and shared ways for other employees to be involved through diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging enhancements.
I strongly believe that the work being done by Black Girl Magic Educational Services mirrors my passions, and I am excited to be a part of the team by bringing awareness to the services provided, creating more events and resources, as well as aiding with building collaboration amongst other organizations.
